Skip the box…make these!


  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 squares or 8 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 package Ghiradelli milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup flour
  • Optional: Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs

*Instead of chocolate chips, sometimes I add Reese’s  Peanut Butter Chips and then I skip the Cinnamon


1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. Butter an 8 x 11 glass pan (do not flour)
3. Melt the butter and chocolate in the top of a double boiler
4. Remove from heat and stir well
5. Add all ingredients except the eggs and stir well. Optional: stir in 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
6. Add the eggs and stir well again
7. Pour into the glass pan and bake for 30-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Do not overcook
8. Cool thoroughly before cutting
